The first clue took me to the door of a little shop on the edge of town. "Clocks fixed while you wait" read the sign. I knocked. I wouldn't have been surprised if a little bird came out singing "Cuckoo." Instead the door opened - and there was Clyde "Sprockets" Day - the smoothest clock repairman in the district. He didn't say much, just lead me to his workbench. I told him my story. He nodded, pulled out his tools and started poking through piles of springs and gears. Yeah, this case was turning into a real stem-winder. Suddenly he stopped and held up a clock. There was the first clue... as plain as the hands on your face. They pointed to 12 and 3.
