Frank "Fingers" Sant'Agata was the town's fastest artist. He could make a masterpiece, sell it on the street, and cash the check before the paint dried. Hey... I didn't say what kind of artist. Fingers unveiled his latest mural. He knew the clue was there. We scoured every inch, and there were a lot of them. "I ain't seein' it," I said. His style of art was beyond me. The only painting I understood had dogs playing poker. Suddenly he saw it. "Here!" Fingers shouted. There it was. I could see the trees. I could see the sea. But I didn't need to paint by numbers to see the "C." |
